CHESTERFIELD BUSINESSWOMAN RECOGNISED AS A MANUFACTURING HERO

Marie Cooper, CEO of Chesterfield-based CBE+ has been recognised as a ‘Manufacturing Hero’ by leading trade and networking association, the Made In Group.

Marie has been invited to receive a ‘Manufacturing Hero’ badge on behalf of the business at a ceremony in Leeds on 5th August.

CBE+ are an integrated supply chain provider specialising in core capabilities including precision engineering, electroless nickel plating, gear manufacture and metal testing. The company has a diverse sector customer base supplying into the aerospace, automotive, rail, energy, and defence sectors, just to name a few.

Marie has been nominated for this badge for ‘ensuring a strong community throughout a crisis’, said Made in Yorkshire’s Chairman, Lord Whitby.

He continued:

‘The contribution that CBE+ and other members have made in a time of national hardship has allowed manufacturers to build their brand alongside supporting British industry growth’.

An outstanding example of this is CBE+’s contribution to Ventilator Challenge UK in 2020, which saw the company pivot their operations to make hundreds of thousands of essential ventilator parts for the NHS, in a very short timeframe. CBE+ also received special recognition for their involvement by Rolls Royce.

Marie said:

‘I am proud to receive this award on behalf of the team at CBE+, for our contribution to UK industry and manufacturing. Working on the Ventilator Challenge was an opportunity for us to contribute to the fight against COVID-19 and support the NHS. We have continued to grow throughout this period, supporting our staff, our suppliers, and our customers, we continue to live our moto that “together we do more”, we will look forward to displaying this badge as a symbol of that ethos at CBE+.
