CBE+ IS SHORTLISTED FOR 4 MAKE UK AWARDS IN REGIONAL FINALS

CHESTERFIELD BASED, MULTIDISCIPLINE ENGINEERING SUB-CONTRACTOR CBE+, HAS BEEN SHORTLISTED FOR NOT ONE, BUT FOUR MANUFACTURING EXCELLENCE AWARDS FOR THE MIDLANDS AND EAST REGION BY MAKE UK.

Make UK, previously known as the EEF, hold the awards annually to recognise the best of UK manufacturing and engineering. This year’s awards will be held digitally for the first time to adhere to COVID 19 guidelines and celebrate the success of the industry safely. The event will announce this year’s regional award winners, promote networking, share best practice and include speeches from renowned industry leaders.

The awards the CBE+ have been selected for include:

SME of the year: for the achievements CBE+ have made since forming, such as streamlining, consolidating and integrating the capabilities of four previously separate businesses; initiating plans to relocate to a single site; the developing and implementing of a complete rebranding under the CBE+ name); centralising functions and departments thus creating efficiencies as well as implementing an integrated ERP system.

Manufacturing matters, for their contribution to ventilator challenge UK, including machining thousands of ventilator parts to tight deadlines to support the UK government and NHS in meeting increased demand caused by COVID19.

Developing future talent, for the outstanding contribution the business has made to developing young individuals in and around the region, including their own apprenticeship scheme, supporting the Chesterfield region through becoming a Cornerstone business and working with d2n2 in connecting young people, education providers and businesses. Supporting the Workwise foundation on their summer academy programme including hosting events such as factory tours and ‘meet the apprentice’ sessions. In addition, the business has been headline sponsor at Get Up to Speed for the past four years, which is the Sheffield city region’s largest recruitment fair with over 4000 young people and 300 businesses and attractions.

Finally, our very own Marketing superstar Katie Andrews has been shortlisted for Business apprentice of the year – in her final year of her apprenticeship, for her contribution to the businesses marketing and communications efforts. Katie said “Its great to have hard work recognised by not only my company but MAKE UK judging panel. And I would like to thank them both for giving me the opportunity to be shortlisted which is a great achievement in itself I am proud of”.
