CBE+ STEM: Inspiring the Next Generation

At CBE+, we’re passionate about more than just delivering high-quality engineering solutions. That’s why we’re deeply committed to promoting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education and fostering the next generation of engineers.

This commitment is spearheaded by our very own CEO, Marie Cooper, a long-standing trustee of the Work-wise Foundation. For over a decade, Marie has championed the Foundation’s tireless efforts to ignite a passion for STEM subjects in young people.

Our partnership with the Work-wise Foundation takes many exciting forms. We actively support their various educational programs and events, including the renowned North Star Science School and the Get Up to Speed with STEM careers fair. These events play a crucial role in exposing students to the vast and fascinating world of STEM, showcasing real-world applications, and connecting them with industry professionals.

This year, Marie also became a Trustee of Vulcan to the Sky, bringing her skills sets in finance, business growth and community engagement to the charity. 

CBE+ is proud to be actively involved in a number of projects with the two charities, including the Operation Vulcan Project. This initiative revolves around the restoration of the iconic British engineering marvel, the Vulcan XH558. CBE+ have provided workspace for the restoration of a fuel tank and delta wing tips, giving local schools the opportunity to participate in this historic project.

By partnering with the Work-wise Foundation and Vulcan to the Sky, we’re not just inspiring future engineers, we’re providing them with tangible experiences to fuel their passion. Marie said “Imagine the thrill of working on a real-life Vulcan, understanding its intricate engineering, and contributing to its preservation! It doesn’t get much more real-world STEM than that.”
