Situation

A customer supplying rolling mill equipment wanted to reshore its supply chain back to the UK, reducing reliance on international suppliers and increasing local production. They needed a partner who could deliver precise machining on cast parts at competitive prices.

Task

CBE+ was tasked with precision machining multiple part numbers. The customer required a cost effective solution whilst maintaining their quality requirements and dimensional accuracy to support production in the UK.

  2. Design for Manufacture: Working closely with the client, CBE+ optimised the design of each part to simplify production wherever possible, making it as efficient and cost-effective as possible.
  3. Innovation: For a key component, CBE+ engineers created a custom jig and used their 5-axis CNC machine to reduce the manufacturing process from eight operations to just two, on one machine. This saved time and improved efficiency.
