CBE+ opens its doors to local students to celebrate National Manufacturing Day
Students from across Derbyshire have been given exclusive behind-the-scenes access to CBE+’s 100,000 sqft state-of-the-art manufacturing facility to mark National Manufacturing Day.
Chesterfield-based CBE+ partnered with The Work-wise Foundation, North Derbyshire District Council, Chesterfield College, and other Derbyshire businesses to showcase the very best of opportunities to students interested in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) careers.
CNC Machining: Powering Precision Manufacturing at CBE+
CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining is a subtractive manufacturing process that begins with a solid block of material, which is carefully cut and shaped to form the desired part. Using high-speed tools, materials such as metals and plastics are machined with precision, producing intricate parts with tight tolerances. Unlike additive manufacturing processes like 3D printing, which build up layers, CNC machining removes material to achieve the final shape
Vulcan to the Sky Trust to soar to new hights as it welcomes new trustee
Marie Cooper, CEO at CBE+, has committed to preserving arguably the most iconic aircraft in British history – the Avro Vulcan XH558 – by joining Vulcan to the Sky Trust’s (VTST) board of trustees.
Marie’s appointment will further bolster the Trust’s mission to inspire future generations to help maintain the United Kingdom’s historic role at the forefront of jet innovation in aviation.
From Apprentice to running Assembly – Dylan
CBE+ is proud to highlight the success of one of our talented employees, Dylan Davenport. Dylan recently completed his apprenticeship and has taken on the role of Assembly Operator.
During his six-year apprenticeship, Dylan achieved both a Level 3 in Mechanical Manufacture and an HNC in the same subject. His dedication and hard work have been instrumental in his career progression.
Precision Electroless Nickel Plating: The art of Intricate Masking
When only specific parts of a component need to be plated, masking techniques become essential. Masking involves strategically covering areas that should not be plated, ensuring that the Electroless Nickel Plating process is confined to the desired regions.
CBE+ Reaffirms Commitment to Safety with ISO 45001 Recertification
CBE+ is thrilled to announce that we have been successfully re-accredited to ISO45001 certification.
Our commitment to the health and safety of our employees is at the forefront of our organisation and this achievement underlines our team’s dedication to providing a safe work environment for all.
Marie Cooper: The Woman Behind the CBE+ Success Story
Marie’s story is one of remarkable resilience. Over eight years, she masterfully brought together six individual businesses under the banner of CBE+. This wasn’t just a merger; it was a strategic move that streamlined operations, centralised the company’s presence creating an integrated supply chain approach. But the journey wasn’t without its challenges.

We believe in investing in the future, and that future rests on the shoulders of a skilled and enthusiastic workforce. That’s why we’re deeply committed to promoting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education and fostering the next generation of engineers.
Electroless Nickel Plating (ENP) – Your Comprehensive Guide
Electroless nickel plating (ENP) is a superior coating process that deposits a nickel-alloy layer through chemical reduction, eliminating the need for electric current used in traditional electroplating. This innovative technique is widely employed in engineering applications, primarily utilising nickel-phosphorus deposits containing between 2 and 14% phosphorus.
